Playing to a sell-out audience, Ellie Goulding bought her soulful brand of pop music to the Eden Project last night.  Striking up a rapport with the crowd from the offset, a clearly humbled Ellie seemed moved to be playing to such a large audience at her own show.  Following on from a summer of festival performances, she noted how refreshing it was to be able to play a full set of material.

The audience were treated to a ride through Ellie's back catalogue, including her biggest hits Starry Eyed, I Need Your Love and Burn as well as less frequently played tracks such as Beating Heart.  Undeniably, the biggest singalong of the night came during a rousing cover of the Elton John classic Your Song, which united the entire audience with one voice.

The concert paused briefly while Ellie took it upon herself to calm a fight that was unfolding at the front, but peace was restored before the end of the song.  A lively and passionate crowd clearly enjoyed Ellie's reaction to the situation, cheering in unison when she commanded the two ladies to buy each other drinks and make up.

A personal highlight of the evening was undoubtably Lights, where lighters, flashlights and phone screens were held in the air throughout the arena, illuminating the area like a sea of stars.

This was truly a classic Eden Session, one which will be remembered for many years to come.  Thank you Ellie and thank you Eden!
