Manchester band Elbow will make a triumphant return to Eden this year after their Sessions debut in 2003.

The show will follow the recent release of their chart-topping sixth studio album The Take Off and Landing of Everything. Their latest album follows 2011’s platinum-selling Build a Rocket Boys! and 2008’s triple-platinum Mercury Music Prize-winning The Seldom Seen Kid.

Following the use of their One Day Like This track during the Beijing Olympics in 2008, the BBC commissioned Elbow to compose the theme for their covering of 2012’s London games. First Steps was recorded with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra. The band also performed at the closing ceremony of the London Olympics.

Elbow have been lavished with critical plaudits and awards, including a BRIT Award for Best British Group, the NME Award for Outstanding Contribution to British Music and two Ivor Novello Awards, as well as being nominated for the Mercury Music Prize on three separate occasions, winning the award in 2008.

The band are fronted by Guy Garvey, who also hosts an acclaimed weekly radio show on BBC 6 Music. Other members are Mark Potter, Craig Potter, Richard Jupp and Pete Turner.
